Just a few moments ago Milla Jovovich revealed on her Twitter page some great details about the fifth Resident Evil installment which will once again be distributed by Screen Gems.


The actress confirmed that, she will reprise her role as "Alice" and her husband Paul W.S. Anderson will be involved to some compacity (although not sure if he will direct again). involved. She also revealed details on the title, writing, "I think its called RE: Retribution, but i have to ask paul 2 b sure."

Jovovich also says they will most likely be shooting the film in Tokyo, which they shot the opening sequence for the fourth film. "I pray 4 japan everyday and i can't wait 2 go there and shoot the nxt RE!"

Milla, who often answers her followers questions on Twitter, literally tweeted about a half hour ago,
"jst 2 let the RE fans know, cause there's been a bunch of questions abt the nxt film, paul has kids that are proffessional players...all they do is play the games till they master every level and unlock every code. they play the games for WEEKS and give paul the footage...so he's literally watching days of the most awesome RE players out there to get inspiration 4 the nxt installment of the franchise.



I'm really looking forward to what new stuff they come up with, like the relationship between Chris and Claire Redfield, Alice taking down Umbrella and trying to build a more peaceful Utopia, and Alice and Jill Valentine having a big fight scene.


Screen Gems has set a September 14, 2012 release date for Resident Evil 5.
