Eminem's 'Space Bound' Music Video to Premiere June 24
Filmed last February, the video is going to make its way out on iTunes this Friday, June 24 at 5 P.M. EST followed by a VEVO premiere on Monday at 12:01 A.M. PST. It was directed by "Love the Way You Lie" video director Joseph Kahn with the video shoot taking place at a roadside diner in Santa Clarita.
The soon-to-be-debuted video reportedly is going to feature an intense love storyline just like the Megan Fox and Dominic Monaghan-starring clip. Playing the lead role opposite the Slim Shady in the clip will be porn star Sasha Grey.
Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars Added to 2011 BET Awards Line-Up
Minaj is up for three kudos this year, vying for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist in one category. Mars, meanwhile, receives two nods; Best Male R&B Artist and Best New Artist. As for Bieber, he doesn't get any nomination but is well known for his works with a number of black musicians like Ludacris and Usher.
At the upcoming awards show, Minaj, Bieber and Mars are going to join the likes of Queen Latifah, Ledisi, Gladys Knight, Taraji P. Henson, Big Sean and Ne-Yo. Also listed in the line-up are Beyonce Knowles, Mary J. Blige, Kelly Rowland, Trey Songz, Lil Wayne, Drake, Chris Brown, Alicia Keys, Cee-Lo Green, and Jill Scott.
Honoring the best in music and movie, 2011 BET Awards will air live from Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium on June 26 with Kevin Hart as a host. Special honorees are Patti LaBelle for Lifetime Achievement Award and Steve Harvey for Humanitarian Award.
Eminem's Bad Meets Evil Album 'Hell: The Sequel' Tops Hot 200
The Slim Shady and Royce arrive in the first position with modest 171,000 copies. They overshadow another new entry of this week by 11-year-old Jackie Evanchow. The former contestant of "America's Got Talent" has to settle at No. 2 with her first full-length album "Dream with Me" which sells 161,000 units in its first week.
This is for the umpteenth time Eminem sitting at the penthouse of the weekly rundown, but marks Royce's first-time ever ruling the chart. As for Jackie, this becomes her second time debuting at No. 2 on the list after she broke the chart and landed at the runner-up position with "O Holy Night" last year.
"You know I ain't never sold no records," Royce told MTV when commenting on the chart debut of the album. "I knew it had the potential. I just really was more focused on the whole 'critically acclaimed' thing, and I think we achieved that. I'm only hearing good things about how people feel about the album."
"I think it's great for an artist of Eminem's stature to do a project like this, especially with a dude like me," he went on. "And to only focus on lyrics and not worry about performance or radio or nothing like that. To go in there spitting, I think, is refreshing to hip-hop."
Back on the chart, Adele is forced to fall to No. 3 with her "21" which adds another 115,000 copies. Lady GaGa trails behind her with "Born This Way" which pulls in 68,000 in its fourth week, and Jason Aldean rises from No. 7 to rounding up the top 5 with "My Kinda Party" (51,000).
The next three spots are occupied by new releases. Owl City's "All Things Bright and Beautiful" enters at No. 6, Barry Manilow's "15 Minutes" bows at No. 7, and Ledisi's "Pieces of Me" scores her first top 10 album by arriving at No. 8.
Closing this week's 10 ten album list are Brad Paisley's "This Is Country Music" and "The Book of Mormon" soundtrack album. The former falls one slot to No. 9, and the latter has to drop seven slots to No. 10 after making a huge jump to from No. 124 No. 3. last week.

GaGa wore a turquoise outfit and black Chanel shades. A wig with the same cyan color was placed atop the piano and fire was flaming on both sides of the stage while she belted out the ballad track. She briefly stopped halfway through the performance, taking off her sunglasses and putting on the wig before resuming the gig.
During the interview segment, Paul said to GaGa, "It's been three long years since we last met and so much has changed. I've got more wrinkles, and you've dominated the world." A Twitter war began with a simple tweet from Joseph Kahn who was initially set to direct the video. "I did NOT direct Lady Gaga's 'Edge of Glory' video. Lady Gaga did," he wrote when some fans, who were not impressed with the final cut, demanded explanation.
Joseph was supposed to collaborate with GaGa's longtime creative director choreographer Laurieann Gibson, but creative differences forced them not to get involved in the project. "411..The EOG.. Video was not directed by me.. And creative Changes happen always educate ignorant Monster's!!!" Lauren offered her side of story.
Laurieann received more backlash from GaGa's devotees. Some of them even called for GaGa to fire the choreographer when she retweeted a fan who shared disappointment over the final version of the clip, and another commentator who thought a Google Chrome commercial was better than the clip.

The announcement of the video premiere comes hot on the heels of news that Clarence Clemons was under doctor's intensive care for suffering stroke. The saxophonist of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band plays a sax solo in the song and also lends his talent in another of GaGa's track called "Hair".
Calling Clarence a "special person," GaGa has been very supportive towards the musician after learning that he was seriously ill. Most recently, she made a get-well video which features a bunch of her Little Monsters, saying "We wanted to wish you a get well soon and a big hug from the whole world."
In addition to showing support for Clarence, the video premiere has also fueled report that GaGa's going to make appearance on "SYTYCD" sometime this season. The rumor arose after executive producer and head judge Nigel Lythgoe dropped a hint in an interview, "she is on tour so they said it would probably be later in the season. She is an amazing dancer and performer."

In a series of longer tweets, she elaborated, "I bring the clip to u, and u take over from there! And I love that u love them! For those who understand the message behind the clip, she stated, "I'm just impressed that u kids know the difference! Keep it up to every girl/boy empowered by this....u are the real winners here!"
The "Man Down" music video drew controversy due to its violent closure which sees Rihanna gunning down the man who raped her. PTC argued the murder scene could mislead the rape victims to do something violent instead of seeking help and reporting the assault to the authority.
Despite the complaint, Rihanna insisted her fans understood the "underlying" message of the music video. She additionally said, "In making that into a mini-movie or a video, we needed to go back to why it happened, because obviously she's not a cold-blooded killer...and we decided to hone in on a very serious matter that people are afraid to address."

Report: Adam Lambert and Christina Aguilera Record a Duet
"Uhhh not sure if this is out yet but a little birdie just told us that @AdamLambert has recorded a song with Christina Aguilera," read the tweet. Later, the radio station posted another message which sent Adam's fans into frenzy, "We sat in a mtng in NYC where his label played us a minute of a new song."
The title of the alleged duet song is not yet revealed. It's also not known whether the track is recorded for Adam's new album or it's made for Christina's next studio installment. Words have been swirling around that the two singers are working on their next album.
Adam previously told MTV about the work he's doing in the studio, "I think I've probably written about 18 to 20 songs. I've been spending the past two and a half months in the studio." The goal is to write "the most personal songs, the most powerful songs," and he has tapped Ryan Tedder, Nikka Costa and Sia Furler for the project. "I really want it to be something that's really honest and real," he gushed.

Selena Gomez Excludes Controversial Pink Horses From Music Video
There won't be any pink horses in Selena Gomez's upcoming "Love You Like a Love Song" music video despite on-set pictures which suggested otherwise. The Disney star, who was slammed by Pink for using the painted animal to shoot the clip two weeks ago, has decided to cut the horse scene because she "was not so comfortable with the whole concept."
According to E! News, Selena had no idea that the horse would be painted. "When Selena was presented the idea for the video, no one informed her the horses would be painted and she had assumed they would be colored in post-production [via special effects]," a production insider said. "When she showed up to the set she was very surprised to see them painted."
Selena filmed the controversial scene on May 19 on the beach of Malibu in Los Angeles, CA with Oliver Seitz as her love interest. Soon after the pink horse pictures made their way out on the web, animal lover Pink blasted the teen singer, "If there are any animal activists around Malibu- at Leo Cabrillo State Beach, there are horses being painted for a stupid music video. Shame."
In response to the complaint, Selena's rep was quick to assure that the animals were not in any danger. "It was important to the Production Company, Record Label and Ms. Gomez that no animals were harmed and all proper precautions were taken," the rep issued defensive statement. "A non toxic, vegetable based powder paint was applied via an airbrush and removed with water. An official from the Humane Society was on set supervising."
However, a PETA spokesperson argued, "There are no safe ways to paint a live horse or any animal. They can have painful allergic reactions to chemicals and there's no way to know how an individual animal will react. Also, subjecting skittish animals like horses to extended periods of restraint and spraying is stressful and frightening."
"Love You Like a Love Song" is taken from "When the Sun Goes Down", Selena's upcoming studio album with The Scene. The CD is due in the U.S. on June 28 and will be preceded with the release of at least three songs. One is called "Bang Bang Bang" (June 7), another is "Dices" (June 14), and the other is "Love You Like a Love Song" itself (June 21). Music video for the third promotional track will be premiered one day after the song debut.

She previously re-tweeted a bunch of her fans' messages which mentioned that they were inspired by the Anthony Mandler-directed music video. One of them read, "Your video means so much to me ! gives me confidence and hope to be carfeul and not mistake Bull**** for love."
Hours later, she fired off a more direct response to the criticism. She posted in a series of tweets, "I'm a 23 year old rockstar with NO KIDS! What's up with everybody wantin me to be a parent? I'm just a girl, I can only be your/our voice! Cuz we all know how difficult/embarrassing it is to communicate touchy subject matters to anyone especially our parents! And this is why! Cuz we turn the other cheek! U can't hide your kids from society, or they'll never learn how to adapt! This is the REAL WORLD!"
At around the same hour, her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown wrote a message which raised people's question about whom he's talking about. The "Yeah 3x" singer posted, "I never claim to be no saint but by no means am I trying to promote death, violence, and destruction with my music!" Before people linked it to the "Man Down" case, he quickly added another message, "And for all the idiots in the audience this convo wasn't for @rihanna."
It was later known that Breezy blasted Tyler, the Creator of Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All. It's a response to Tyler's posting which read, "Why Is Chris Brown Talking So Much S*** About Metallica? Weird." He fueled Breezy's anger by dropping an insulting comment about his blond hair, "Ni**a Look Like A Box Of Pops." He then closed the war of words with, "@chrisbrown Do You Like Soup? Cause You're Acting Like It."
Lady GaGa to Remix 'Born This Way' Songs for South Asia
"The reason I'm going to India now is because I can," GaGa told Wall Street Journal. "I didn't have the money or the resources before to travel and bring all of my things with me and reach an entire new territory of fans."
The marketing campaign for India begins with a collaboration between her and Desi Hits. The company which is based in New York will distribute the entertainment content to South Asian regions and create her brand.
"She's expanding her base," said her manager Troy Carter. "In the last album cycle we toured a lot of places in the world, but there were still some territories that we weren't able to go and spend time and really work. India was one of those places."
Desi Hits has worked with other Hollywood artists before such as 50 Cent, Akon, Britney Spears and Enrique Iglesias. The remix of GaGa's title track "Born This Way" by Salim and Sulaiman had been featured on DesiHits.com.
Rihanna Defends Violent 'Man Down' Music Video After PTC Attack
RiRi didn't directly mention the PTC complaint, but she repeatedly re-tweeted her fans' messages which mentioned that they were inspired by the music video. One of them read, "Your video means so much to me ! gives me confidence and hope to be carfeul and not mistake Bull**** for love." Another read, "ManDown Is Powerful!! Amazing Song, Brilliant Message."
Earlier in the day, she wrote, "Young girls/women all over the world...we are a lot of things! We're strong innocent fun flirtatious vulnerable, and sometimes our innocence can cause us to be naive! We always think it could NEVER be us, but in reality, it can happen to ANY of us! So ladies be careful and #listentoyomama! I love you and I care!"
Directed by Anthony Mandler and filmed in Jamaica last April, the video features RiRi as an island carefree girl who turns into a killer after becoming the victim of a sexual assault. Instead of seeking help and reporting the assault to the authority, she takes the matter into her own hands by shooting him down in a crowded train station.
In a press release, Melissa Henson director of communications and public education for the PTC said, "Rihanna's personal story and status as a celebrity superstar provided a golden opportunity for the singer to send an important message to female victims of rape and domestic violence."
Before the video premiere, RiRi mentioned the video has a "very strong underlying message 4 girls" to stay safe, but Melissa argued the visualization could mislead them. "Instead of telling victims they should seek help, Rihanna released a music video that gives retaliation in the form of premeditated murder the imprimatur of acceptability," she said.
In line with the PTC statement, Paul Porter of Enough Is Enough Campaign and a former voice of BET said, "If Chris Brown shot a woman in his new video and BET premiered it, the world would stop. Rihanna should not get a pass and BET should know better. The video is far from broadcast worthy."
Britney Spears Announces European Dates of 'Femme Fatale' Tour
Britney Spears has just announced European leg of her upcoming "Femme Fatale" tour. The pop singer is going to fly across the pond for a series of live concerts roughly a month after completing the North American trek with her special guest Nicki Minaj.
The "Hold It Against Me" singer will kick it off on September 24 at Olimpiiski in Moscow, Russia with tickets going on sale starting June 1. Her next stops include Ukraine, Switzerland and Denmark. She is expected to wrap it up on October 21 in Montpellier, France.
While waiting for the tour to be kicked off, fans can expect a music video premiere for Britney's third single "I Wanna Go". She filmed the visuals last week and was snapped channeling her inner rocker chick by wearing pink hair extension and a spunky skirt.
Despite the upbeat tune of the song, the video reportedly will have less dancing and focus more on the narrative storyline instead. Rumor has it, she will be saved by a hunky actor when being hounded by a crowd of paparazzi. They will make out in the backseat of a car later on.

It opens with a spoken interlude from comedian Mike Epps. "All these young kids, they ain't got no direction," he drops his remarks. "S**t, these lil' kids is on everything: syrup, painkillers, cigarettes, weed, Hennessey, vodka..." Royce and the Slim Shady follow him up with their own flowing bars.
Beside Mike Epps, the 9-song EP also lines up Bruno Mars as a featured guest in "Lighters", and Slaughterhouse in "Loud Noises". The album is due in the United States on June 14 via Shady/Interscope Records.
